Alleged dowry harassment

Mysuru: A newly wedded lady, depressed over frequent harassment for dowry by her husband, committed suicide by consuming poison at Kesare in city. Though she was rushed to a private hospital, she breathed her last after failing to respond to the treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Tejomani (28), a resident of Alanahalli in city, who was given in marriage to one Naveen Kumar, a resident of N.R. Mohalla, about nine months back.

It is learnt that Naveen used to harass her frequently for money despite giving him dowry at the time of marriage. Depressed over frequent harassment for money, Tejomani consumed poison and was writhing in pain following which she was rushed to a private hospital where she breathed her last yesterday.

N.R. Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
