Alleged sexual harassment on woman employee:Police register cases against 4 Railway Workshop officials

Mysuru: Following a complaint from a woman employee accusing her senior officers of sexually harassing her, Ashokapuram Police have registered a case against four officials of the Central Railway Workshop on Manandavadi Road in city.

In her complaint, the woman has stated that when she was working at the AC Mechanic Shop at the Railway Workshop, Senior Section Engineer-1  Z. Thomas used to sexually harass her by passing sexual remarks, showing pornography contents and making obscene gestures.

She has further stated that Senior Section Engineer Progress Prathiba Chawhan and Senior Section Engineer-2 Geetesh Singh were supporting Thomas and when she complained to the Railway Department Internal Committee on Aug. 8, 2024, no strict action was taken but Thomas was transferred to another shop.

She further accused that Senior Section Engineer-2 Geetesh Singh and Senior Section Engineer S. Sujith, used to take photos and videos of her while she was working, which had come to her notice on May 6, 2025. She has also accused Geetesh Singh of threatening her with life by getting her shot dead by calling people from Bihar.

The woman has urged the Police to initiate action against Thomas, Prathiba, Geetesh and Sujith.

Ashokapuram Police, who have registered a case, are investigating into the allegations against the four accused.
