Alleges corruption in MUDA

Vedike to launch signature campaign tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Stating that he will lodge a complaint with Lokayukta and the Income Tax Department seeking a probe into the alleged attempts of MUDA site grabbing by creation of fake documents, Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruta Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu said that the Vedike will launch a signature campaign in front of MUDA office tomorrow, seeking to make MUDA corruption free.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Shivaramu alleged that MUDA, which is supposed to allot site to deserving applicants, is now mired in corruption, with scams tumbling out almost every other day. As such, the Vedike will launch a signature campaign under the title ‘Free MUDA from corruption,’ in front of the MUDA office on JLB Road at 11 am tomorrow (Jan. 12).

Alleging that several officials, who  have deep-rooted in MUDA for over 20 years, have turned MUDA into a cesspool of corruption, Shivaramu alleged that MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, who himself unearthed a scam involving a site worth crores of rupees in Vijayanagar Fourth Stage, is yet to order a probe.

Alleging that MUDA officials were hand-in-glove with Shashikala, wife of former IFS officer late Nagaraj, Kannada Book Authority (KBA) Chairman Nandeesh Hanche, his wife Deepa and brokers in the attempt to grab a 50’x80’ site in Vijayanagar Fourth Stage (site No. 3165) recently, he urged the Government to order a judicial probe into the scam.

Demanding that the Government should also suspend MUDA Commissioner for irregularities, he reiterated that he would lodge a complaint with the Lokayukta and Income Tax Department against MUDA Commissioner and other officials and Nandeesh Hanche.

Accusing MUDA of trying to make Shashikala, the scape goat in the scam, he wanted to know the whereabouts of Shashikala who is not to be seen anywhere after the scam came to light.

Vedike office-bearers M. Lokesh Kumar, Pavan, Shashiraj and M. Manjunath were present during the press meet.
