I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed construction of a new bus stand at Bannimantap, as it will cause significant inconvenience to the residents and also diminish the aesthetic appeal of Mysuru at its entrance.

I urge the concerned decision-makers to consider an alternative location that would be more suitable for this purpose.

A vacant plot next to Shobha Garden, adjacent to NR Mohalla, along the road connecting Manipal Hospital and FTS Circle, would be a far better option. This location offers ample space, better connectivity, and minimal disruption to the city’s landscape.

I also fully endorse the views of Major General S.G. Vombatkere, who has emphasised the importance of selecting a site that aligns with Mysuru’s urban planning needs. It is crucial for the government to take into account the opinions of Mysuru residents, who are the primary stakeholders in this matter.

I request the authorities to reconsider the current proposal and explore this alternative site.
