Alumni to celebrate 76th NCC Day in city on Sunday

Mysuru: The Alumni of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mysuru in association with 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC, has organised 76th NCC Day celebrations tomorrow at Hotel Southern Star in the city at 10.30 am.

President of Alumni of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mysuru, Dr. Anil Thomas told media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning that a series of events including a motorcycle rally and tribute to Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa (statue) have been organised as part of the celebrations.

Col. Rohit Thakur will be the chief guest, while Wing Commander Ashish, Commanding Officer of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mysuru, Group Captain Abhinav Chaturvedi, former Commanding Officer of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC and founder of Alpha Lead Mysuru, Nagaraju, retired Aero Modelling Instructor and Somender Singh, inventor, thinker and eco-conscious individual will attend as the special guests.

Alumni Flight Lieutenant Punya Nanjappa, the first woman fighter pilot from Mysuru, will be interacting with the NCC cadets.

Earlier, a motorcycle rally will be flagged off from the premises of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple, Mysore Palace North Gate at 7.15 am, by City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar. The rally will pass through Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle), Basaveshwara Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, Ramaswamy Circle and Hotel Metropole junction.

Uma Venkatesh, Founder and Secretary of Alumni of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mysuru, Joint Treasurer Shankar Danagoudru and Committee Member Lakshmi Vallabha were present.
