Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham accredited by NAAC with A+ + Grade

August 30, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: With a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.70 out of 4, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been awarded A++, the highest grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in third cycle. Amrita School of Arts and Sciences located in Bogadi II Stage, Mysuru, is one of the constituent schools of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and has been imparting quality education over the last eighteen years.

To be eligible to apply for the NAAC accreditation, an educational institution should have completed five years. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham had just completed six years in January 2009 when it applied for accreditation for first cycle.

This puts Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham under Category 1 Autonomy Higher Education Institution in India and will fulfill its mission to provide value-based education.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Venkat Rangan said “It is a privilege and honour for us to have received the highest-possible A++ grading from NAAC, considering that we are still a young University founded in 2003.”

NAAC is an autonomous body established in 1994 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country and head quartered in Bengaluru.

The accreditation process involves seven criteria — curriculum, learning and evaluation, research and innovation, infrastructure, student support, governance and institutional values. The Universities after assessment by NAAC are awarded one of the eight grades — A++, A+, A, B++, B+, B, C and D.
