Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Visual Communication (VisCom), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus, is set to host the 8th National-level Short Film Festival, ‘Cinerama-2026’, on Apr. 9.
The Festival is a vibrant platform that celebrates storytelling and provides emerging filmmakers across the country an opportunity to showcase their creativity and cinematic vision.
The Festival features the following categories:
1. Open Category: Short films must not exceed 40 minutes (including title and credits). Films can be in English or any Indian language. Only films produced after Jan. 1, 2025 are eligible. Last date for submission is Mar. 30.
2. Amrita 60-Hour Filmmaking Challenge: Teams (maximum 5 members) will create a short film within 60 hours, beginning on Apr. 2 at 7.30 pm and concluding on Apr. 5 at 7.30 am. Last date for registration is Apr. 2 (10 am).
The shortlisted films will be screened at the Amrita Mysuru campus and winners will be awarded during the Festival. Prizes worth a total of Rs. 1,00,000 and more will be awarded.
