An appealing expo of drawings featuring literary giants

Mysuru: Marking Kannada Rajyotsava, an exhibition of line drawings of achievers, who had toiled for Kannada land and literature, created by teacher and artist U.G. Mohankumar Aradhya, was held at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira here yesterday.

The drawings covered literary giants like Rashtrakavi Kuvempu, D.R. Bendre, Shivaram Karanth, Chandrashekar Kambar, Alur Venkat Rao, Akkamahadevi, Devara Dasimayya, S.H. Marulaiah, P.T. Narasimhachar, M. Govinda Pai, U.R. Ananthamurthy and S. Shivarudrappa, along with those who had fought for the unification of the State with 64 exhibits on display.

The expo was organised jointly by District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota.

Inaugurating the expo, columnist and Kannada Development Authority (KDA) Member Dr. Gubbigudu Ramesh hailed the expo in introducing the great personalities for the next generation. He assured that KDA would provide an opportunity to hold similar expo in Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru and other places.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna presided.

International Athlete Vijaya Ramesh, Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar, artist U.G. Mohankumar Aradhya and others were present during    the inauguration.
