Mysuru: Jhankar Nritya Shikshayatan’s Annual Dance Programme titled ‘Kathak Nrityă – Raag Manjari’ has been organised at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar on July 26 at 5 pm.

Dr. Rama V. Bennur, President of Ganabharathi and Visiting Professor at Karnataka State Gangubai Hangal Music & Performing Arts University, Mysuru and Guru Dr. Chetana Radhakrishna, HoD of Bharatanatyam, at Music University, Mysuru, will be the chief guests.

This year’s centrepiece will be a full-length dance-drama Dashavatar presented by Jhankar Nritya Shikshayatan Founder Guru Praveena Mitali Ghosh.

Rather than following the commonly known Puranic sequence, the production draws its structure from the Dashavatara Stotra, composed by the  poet-saint Jayadeva Gosvami and popularised worldwide through the ISKCON tradition.

The evening offers a rare chance to see mythology, rhythm and devotion converge on a single stage.
