Annual Feast at Infant Jesus Cathedral

Celebrations, which began on Jan. 11, to conclude on Jan. 19

Mysuru: The Annual Feast of Infant Jesus at the Infant Jesus Cathedral, Hinkal, is being celebrated from Jan. 11 to 19.

The celebrations began with the flag hoisting by Rev. Msgr. Thomas Thennattil Augusthy, the Parish Priest, on Saturday evening, followed by the Holy Mass and Novena by Rev. Fr. Ajesh Enayil.

Rev. Fr. Sojan Aikkarakunnel MST, Regional Director, St. Thomas Mission, Mandya, was the main celebrant for the Holy Mass and Novena at 8 am on Sunday.

There will be Holy Mass and  Novena at 6.30 pm on all days from today (Jan.13) till Jan. 17. Rev. Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, Director, Jeevadharu, H. D. Kote will celebrate the Holy Mass and Novena  at 6.30 pm on Jan. 18 followed by the Eucharistic Procession, led by Rev. Fr.  Paul Manjooran, Director, Catechism, Diocese of Mandya and Rev. Fr. Rony Puthenveettil,  Rector, Mother Teresa Seminary, Mandya.

On Sunday (Jan. 19), the Main Feast Day, there will be Holy Mass at 7 am. Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Bishop of Mandya will be the main celebrant for the Solemn High Mass at 10.30 am. Around 3,000 people are expected to take part in the  Annasantharpane at 12.30 pm. Archbishop Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator, Diocese of  Mysore, will officiate the Solemn Festal High Mass in Kannada at 4.30 pm followed by the grand  candle light procession in honour of Infant Jesus with the famous shingarimela to the Ring road Junction, Hinkal. There will be shingarimela performance and fireworks display at 7.30 pm,  followed by the Water DJ and the Entertainment event by famous Malayalam serial star Sreeveshkumar.
