Mysuru: The annual get-together of Sri Kavery Kodava Association, Mysuru East, was held recently at its premises in Vidyashankar Layout here.
Kaddaniyanda Harish Bopanna, Kodagu District in-Charge Minister’s Private Secretary, who was the chief guest, said he was happy that the Association is doing a yeoman service by running a school, Kodagu Model English School, to help the people of this locality. Expressing happiness on the growth of the Association, he suggested the Kodavas to launch a struggle for getting their due rights as they are a very small ethnic community.
Banangada Arun, in his address, lauded the Association for imparting education to children residing around the area at an affordable cost through its Kodagu Model School in Vidyashankar Layout. Association President K.K. Aiyappa presided.
Chimmanda Ashik Subbaiah rendered the invocation. Secretary A.P. Motayya compared. Vice-President K.M. Belliappa distributed scholarships to students. Association’s senior member Palachanda Parvathi Kuttappa and sports-person Baleyanda Hemalatha Somaiah were felicitated on the occasion.
