Another Kerala man assaulted, robbed at Perumbadi, Virajpet

Virajpet: A robbery and assault incident was reported early this morning near Perumbadi, Virajpet, on the Karnataka-Kerala border, where a man from Kerala was attacked while travelling by car.

The victim, Radeesh (30), a resident of Kuthuparamba in Kannur district, Kerala, was assaulted by unidentified assailants while en route through the area.

He sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Virajpet Government Hospital.

The assailants reportedly intercepted the vehicle and assaulted him before fleeing with valuables.  The exact amount of the looted valuables is being ascertained.

Virajpet Police have launched an intensive search to trace the accused.

Checkpoints have been set up across the district as part of a coordinated nakabandi operation.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering leads to identify the culprits. Further investigation is underway.
