Apathy of garbage collectors

March 14, 2019

Sir,

I was shocked and astonished when the garbage collectors threw the garbage in adjacent vacant site. A few used items and dry waste from home was collected and kept for clearance. The reason quoted was that the quantity was more and there was no space in their vehicle.

In spite of requesting not to throw, they picked it up and threw among the dry bushes and said ‘Nothing will happen,  your waste is disposed so don’t worry.’  Alas, we are a long way to be a ‘Clean City’ and a very long way to be really ‘Swachh Bharat.’
