Marching towards a safer and pandemic-free Mysuru

Mysore/Mysuru: Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, has administered 1,00,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines till July 8.

Vaccination being a strong tool to curb the pandemic, Apollo BGS Hospitals launched  its vaccination drive in the city on March 1 this year for the 45-plus and above age group.

The 18-plus category was started on May 11 following the Government’s announcement.

To facilitate maximum vaccinations to the people of Mysuru, Apollo started an extend centre at Ganabharathi, a close-by location, which received a very good response.

Speaking on the occasion, N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President and Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals,  Mysuru, said, “We are happy to have achieved this milestone of 1 lakh vaccinations, which was possible due to exemplary teamwork, excellent execution and on-time availability of vaccines. Along with this, we extended the vaccination drive to peripherals outside the city. One such being  the Tibetan Settlement at Bylakuppe where we vaccinated more than 6,000 monks at the monastery and the camp. This was coupled with vaccinating all the corporate companies in Mysuru which collectively led to this achievement.”

“To further strengthen the drive, the Apollo Group organised a Mega Vaccination Day on June 30 with a dawn-to-dusk vaccination programme open to all demonstrating our  geographic spread,                                                                        vaccination capability and operational efficiency. We are also one of the only private                                                                     hospital groups to vaccinate a maximum number of people in the country,” he said.

Safety protocols like social distancing, compulsory mask, sanitisation were strictly followed while online registration was encouraged for quick turnaround time.
