Applications invited for accident relief

Under the Karnataka State Private Commercial Vehicles Workers Accident Relief Scheme, the Labour Department has invited applications from vehicle drivers, conductors and cleaners of Mysuru district for the accident relief scheme. Under the scheme, two children of the dead or permanently disabled victim will get educational scholarship of Rs. 10,000 annually until PUC education.

This apart, the families of victims (drivers, conductors and cleaners) who died in accidents will get a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh and the families of permanently disabled accident victims will get a compensation of up to Rs. 2 lakh in accordance with the disability.  The applicants must be residents of Karnataka and in the age group of 20 to 70 years, according to a press release.
