Under the Girijan Sub-Plan, the Department of Fisheries has invited applications from eligible fishermen belonging to ST community for availing subsidy for purchase of 4-wheeler vehicle to be used for transportation & sale of fish. Under the scheme, the beneficiary will get a maximum subsidy of Rs. 3 lakh, while the remaining money for vehicle purchase (costing Rs. 6 lakh) has to be borne by the beneficiary. Eligible fishermen can obtain the prescribed application forms from the respective Taluk Fisheries Department Office and return the same along with required documents before Jan. 28, according to a press release.
