Applications invited for Mahila Dasara stalls

Mysuru: Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation and Women and Child Welfare Department have jointly organised an exhibition and sale as part of Mahila Dasara from Sept. 21 to Sept. 28 at the JK Grounds near the City Railway Station.

In this Mela, the paintings, hand-crafted items and other products manufactured by Sthree Shakti Self Help Groups, Sthree Shakti Federation members and women entrepreneurs will be given opportunity to display their wares. The Sthree Shakti groups, entrepreneurs and those who have taken micro finance from the Department will be given first preference.

Those who are interested in participating must personally approach the Child Development Project Officer in each taluk and register their names. The details of their products or items that they plan to display at the Mela, must be filled in a written application form and submitted through the Child Development Project Officer in the respective taluks before Sept. 11 to the Deputy Director, Women and Child Welfare Department.

The products to be displayed in the exhibition will first be invited at the respective district offices and after inspecting, only the best will be selected. Later, the applicants will be given stalls and this information will be provided to them through phones, said a press release from the Department.
