Mysore/Mysuru: Former Mayor Narayan, also the State President of Karnataka Pourakarmika Mahasangha, announced that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has agreed to regularise the services of contract pourakarmikas in the upcoming State Budget.
Addressing a press conference, Narayan mentioned that around 26,200 pourakarmikas in 10 City Corporations have been working under outsourcing agencies for an extended period.
He revealed that following his memorandum to the Chief Minister requesting the appointment of more loaders, cleaners, and drivers, permanent appointment letters will be issued to 544 underground drainage workers, 481 loaders, and 294 cleaners soon.
Additionally, he stated that the Chief Minister has assured further Pourakarmika appointments in phases in the coming days. The press meet was attended by Mahasangha office-bearers Palani, R. Shiva, S. Nagaraj, Raju, and M.K. Mahadeva.
