On the 19th November, at Premier Studio Complex, Mysuru, Articulate Festival, in its 18th edition of Dance Festival, that happens on every 3rd Sunday of the month, saw a colourful performance by five artistes from Bengaluru and one from the USA.
The evening began with a duet performance in Bharatanatyam by Paramesh Sisters — Shalini and Malini, who performed a 25 minute composition dedicated to Lord Krishna, beautifully unveiling the story from the Lord’s birth to the sermon in the battle field.
Seema Viswanath, a Mysurean now in the USA, performed three dance numbers in Kathak that had a blend of Lucknow and Jaipur Gharanas, beginning with a Krishna Vandana and proceeding with two technical items.
Pavithra Manjunath and Gayathri Maiya, both siblings, performed Bharatanatyam duet, tracing the life and times of Lord Sri Ramachandra that was aesthetically well-defined.
Festival concluded with Kathak performance by Dr. Ruma Shil who presented the Raipur gharana that included a Ghazal in all its finesse. The festival was curated by Mysore B. Nagaraj.
