Articulate Festival-36 on Sunday

Mysuru: The following artistes will be performing in the Articulate Festival-36 at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Ganabharathi, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, on May 19 (Sunday) at 6 pm:

DEBASISH  PATTNAIK (Odissi artiste)

Debasish Pattnaik has completed Nrutyabhaskar (MA in dance) with a Gold medal. He has been performing Odissi for the past 26 years, initially learnt under Guru Kashinatha Roul and currently trained under Guru Durga Charan Ranbir.

Debasish has performed in 39 countries and is a recipient of Senior Scholarship & Junior Fellowship from Department of Culture, Govt. of India and is a ‘A’ grade artiste of Doordarshan.

He is ICCR-empanelled artiste under Ministry of Culture, GoI. Empanelled for the festival of India to perform abroad by Ministry of Culture, he has been awarded ‘Shringar Mani’ title and is a visiting faculty in Ho Chi Minh RMIT (University), Vietnam.

KALIDAS S. PANICKER (Bharatanatyam artiste)

Kalidas started learning Bharatanatyam under Guru Jeevan (Alumini of Sri Swathi Thirunal College of Music) and continued under Guru Sunnaresan, Guru RLV Reghu Narayanan and Pattom G. Sanil Kumar. He joined Tripunithura RLV College of Music and Fine Arts to obtain BA in Bharatanatyam. Kalidas at present continues learning under Guru Jisha Raghav (Alumini and ex-faculty of Kalakshetra Foundation) and Nattuvanga under Guru Kalamandalam Hari Krishnan. Kalidas runs his dance institution ‘Natyarpana Institute of Classical Dance.’

Dooradarsan graded artiste, Kalidas is Natyapoornima Awardee-2018 and has received Nrithopasana Puraskar Guru Award apart from winning in Kerala Kalolsavam more than once.

NISHANT PANICKER (Kathak artiste)

Initiated into art of Kathak by Murari Sharan Gupta, Nishant is now being trained by Vibha Ramaswami. He honed aspects of Kathak in the workshops conducted by Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj, Mamatha Maharaj and Durga Arya.

SHAMANTH S. RAO (Kuchipudi artiste)

Shamanth is pursuing his training in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi under Kala Arathi Ratna Guru Dr. Sanjay Shantaram at Shivapriya School of Dance, Bengaluru.
