Articulate Festival tomorrow

Mysuru:  Articulate Festival, coordinated by Mysore B. Nagaraj, Managing Trustee, Articulate Trust for Arts, is conducted on 3rd Sunday of every Month in city. Accomplished Indian Classical dancers both from India and abroad take part in this festival.  

On Sunday (Nov. 18), in its 30th series, artistes are scheduled to perform in Odissi, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam and Bharatanatyam starting at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Kuvempunagar.  Entry is free.

This series presents five solo performances — Bharatanatyam by Manju V. Nair; Kuchipudi by  Sundara Rama Koundinya; Odissi by Vivekini Das; Kathak by Kalpana Subbarao; Mohiniattam by Kalamandalam Dr. Rachitha Ravi.  

Manju V. Nair from Trissur is a disciple of Guru Trissur Janardhanan, Padma Shree Adyar Laxmanan and Braga Bessal. She is a Bachelor’s degree holder in Bharatanatyam from Bangalore University and a graded artiste of Doordarshan.

Sundara Rama Koundinya from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, is a disciple of Guru Dr. Sreekanth Raghupatruni of Sivasri Nritya Kalaniketana, Srikakulam.  He is a graded artiste of Doordarshan pursuing Master’s in Kuchipudi from Telugu University.

Vivekini Das from Bengaluru, a disciple of Guru Madhulita Mohapatra of Nrityantar Academy of Performing Arts, Bengaluru, graduated Sangeet Visharad in distinction.

Kalpana  Subbarao from Texas, USA, is a disciple of Sontosh Chatterjee of Kolkata. Kalpana teaches at Silambam Houston.

Kalamandalam Dr. Rachitha Ravi from Trissur has a Doctorate in Mohiniattam from Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University.  A disciple of Guru Prof.Kala Leelamma, she is a recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from Central Sangeeth Natak Academy, Delhi.
