Little Angels descend to Dance
Mysuru: A festival of Classical Dance by prodigies was witnessed at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in city recently. A dance canvas in colours of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Kathak unveiled to a packed hall. The angels who descended were all children between 8 and 15, accomplished in their chosen dance format revelled in abandon.
While Pooja Satnur performed Bharatanatyam, Sanjana Prasad performed Kuchipudi. After Prisha Sinha performed Odissi, Saina Kadni, Vaibhavi R. Shetty, Vaishnavi R. Shetty, Phalguni V. Kadambalithaya and Shama V. Bharadwaj, all artistes of Articulate Dance Studios, presented Kathak.
It is not to be seen with feeling of admiration that the performers were mere children, but the mastery of the chosen medium showed their accomplishment. One cannot say who was better than the other. The geometricity of Bharatanatyam executed by Pooja Satnur, the flamboyancy of Kuchipudi exhibited by Sanjana Prasad, the sensuality of Odissi displayed by cuteness embodiment Prisha Sinha, t he mercurial spins and footwork of Kathak as nimbly performed by the group of five girls was all mesmerising.
It was an evening where Dance Angels descended to enthrall the audience. Curator of the Festival Mysore B. Nagaraj said, Indian Classical Dances have a good future in the hands and feet of these children, proving the point that dance shall survive and stand the test of time. This was the second in series of the annual festival dedicated to showcase the talent of children in the field of Indian traditional dance art.
