ASHA workers oppose uploading of Data after NCD survey

August 14, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly opposing the uploading of data of  NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases) survey to the Health Department through Mobile app, ASHA workers, under the banner of  AIUTUC affiliated Karnataka State  Samyukta ASHA Workers Association, staged a demonstration in front of the DHO Office in Nazarbad here on Thursday.

Maintaining that they faced a lot of  hardships and risked their health  in conducting the house-to-house  NCD survey that was ordered soon after the COVID pandemic subsided late last year, the ASHA workers said that the Data has been filled in the prescribed format. But now, the  health authorities have been asking them to upload the Data in the Department website, which is not correct, they contended.

Claiming that every ASHA worker has to upload data of  the survey of a thousand people, they said that it is a huge burden on them as it is time consuming and they have to do it after finishing their other daily duties. They also contended that it is not financially  possible for them to upload the data using an Internet package with Rs.10 incentive per house provided by the Department.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to DHO Office opposing the Health Department’s move.

Association office-bearers Manjula, Pushpa, Girijamma, Siddamma, Sunitha, AIUTUC office-bearers Yashodhar, P.S. Sandhya, Seema, Harish and others took part in the protest demonstration.
