ASHA workers to stage online protest on May 24

May 23, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru:  Seeking fulfilment of their various demands, which chiefly included payment of Rs.5,000 as monthly honorarium just as being paid to Corona warriors, ASHA workers will stage a State-wide online protest on May 24.

Pointing out that there are 42,000 ASHA workers in the State, the Karnataka State Samyukta ASHA Workers Association said that ASHA workers, apart from engaging in Mother and Child healthcare, are engaged in COVID contact tracing, door-to-door visits and other supplementary COVID duties.

Seeking facilities and safety equipment on the lines of Corona warriors of the Health Department, the Association said that online protest will be staged against the Government on May 24 on fulfilment of its various demands, which are just and fair under the present trying circumstances.
