Asteroid Day

The Cosmology Education & Research Training Centre (COSMOS) – Mysuru of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, in association with the University of Mysore (UoM), has organised Asteroid Day – 2025 on June 27 at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri, from 10.30 am to 1 pm. The half-day programme will consist of a lecture, an interaction session and experiments. The Asteroid Day is celebrated on/ near to June 30 each year as the date marks the anniversary of the largest asteroid impact in recorded history, the Tunguska event, which occurred in 1908 over Siberia.
