Sir,
Recently my wife and I had the misfortune of visiting the so-called lounge ‘Good Times’ at International Airport, Dabolim, Goa, on Oct. 22. It was worse than a bus stand hotel in a village. A buffet meal costs Rs. 1,200 each; the food was substandard not worth more than Rs. 150. Since there was no choice we had to eat there.
The bigger shock came when the tariff for a 30 ML Red Label whisky was Rs. 1,100! This in a State where the Excise Duty on liquor is 50 percent lower than the neighbouring States. Paradoxically, the same liquor costs Rs. 350 in Five Star Super Luxury Hotels like the Grand Hyatt and ITC Grand Goa.
In ‘Good Times’ lounge the seating arrangements are pathetic, congested with customers standing and eating and jostling against each other for space. This kind of daylight robbery and fleecing the hapless passengers is not acceptable.
