ATI and UoM tie up to launch Massive Open Online Courses

Mysuru/Mysore:  The University of Mysore (UoM) and the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Mysuru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct a Diploma and Certificate Courses through a Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). 

The meeting was chaired by  Kapil Mohan, IAS, Director General, ATI and Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, UoM, at Syndicate Hall recently.

These online courses aim at enhancing the competencies of newly-recruited officers and in-service officials working in the Government through customised and well-designed modules relating to their job performance. 

To start with five important courses on Professional Diploma in Public Administration and five other certificate courses on Disaster Management, Social Justice and Equality, Public Private Partnerships, e-Governance and Data Analytics and Sustainable Development Goals have been developed in collaboration with UoM. Heads of the different centres established at ATI, Mysuru have made presentations on respective courses and module plans for implementation of MOOC. Officers attending foundation courses and other regular courses at ATI, Mysuru and DTIs will be encouraged to enrol in these courses and qualify to receive certificate after passing through online examination and assignments.

Mahadevan, Registrar (Evaluation), Yashasvini, Deputy Director, ATI, Heads of the Centres from ATI and UoM were present in the meeting, according to a press release from Dr. M. Dileep Kumar, Communication and IT officer, Centre for Disaster Management, ATI, Mysuru.
