Ati Rudra Yaga at Avadhoota Datta Peetha from Nov. 16 to 26

Mysuru: As part of the Diamond Jubilee Year celebrations (75th year) of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji,Ati Rudra Yaga will be conducted atAvadhoota Datta Peetha in city from Nov. 16 to 26,  coinciding with Nakshatra Ishti rituals being performed presently from Nov.4 to Dec. 8, for the well-being of the society.  

Rudra is a synonym of Lord Shiva and also stands for Jeevatma and Paramatma.   Agni (fire) is a representative form of Rudra.  Rudra Yaga will be conducted by chanting 169 mantras as per the rituals prescribed in Yajurveda Samhita.  In these mantras, Lord Shiva is extolled as the forces of nature, such as Earth, Energy and Wind with their derivatives, referred as the aspects of Rudra.

Shatarudreeya Mantra Parayana / Homa with Vasordhaara and pacifies the ferocious forms of Rudra and pleasing the peaceful aspects of Lord Shiva, resulting in prosperity and well-being.

The method of Ati RudraYaga require 121 ritwiks (pundits) reciting 11 times Rudra mantras, performing rituals in 11 Homa Kundas daily for 11 days.   The other worships like Ekadasa Rudrabhisheka, Veda parayana, Bilwarchana, Ashtavadhana Seva, Shata Chandi Parayana, Nama Sankeertana, Annadana are part of Ati Rudra Yaga, every day.

Listening to Rudra mantras, watching Homas are for the betterment of life, health, wealth and to overcome sorrows and miseries. Ati Rudra Yaga is also aimed to achieve world peace and betterment of humanity, as a whole. The rituals are conducted under the guidance  of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji at the Poundarika Rangastala of Sri Ganapathy Ashrama, Mysuru.

Ati Rudra Yaga schedule: 7 am – Homa, 12 noon – Purnahuti, 5 pm – Pujas, 6.30 pm – Bhajans and Namasankeertana.
