January 8, 2020

Mysuru/Mysore: Miscreants have made away with a bag containing Rs. 50,000 cash, ATM and Credit Cards and cheque book from a man after diverting his attention near Cheluvamba Park gate on Monday in broad daylight.

The man who lost his cash and other items is Chandru, a resident of Saraswathipuram in city.

Chandru, on Monday, withdrew Rs. 50,000 from State Bank of India (SBI), Saraswathipuram Branch, kept it in a black colour bag and was proceeding on his bike (KA-09-EZ-4028). At about 4 pm, he bought food at a fast-food near Akashavani and was waiting at the traffic signal light, when he felt somebody touched his back.

As the signal turned green, Chandru proceeded further and when he came near Cheluvamba Park gate, two persons on a bike called Chandru and told him that his shirt was spoiled on the back side.

Chandru then stopped his bike, got down, kept the cash bag on his bike, removed the shirt and was cleaning it when two other persons on a bike told Chandru that he had dropped his cash on the road and pointed their finger at the spot, where a few currency notes were lying.

Chandru picked up the currency notes lying at a distance and returned to his bike only to find the cash bag missing, according to the complaint lodged by Chandru, who has also stated that he would identify them if he sees them again.

V.V. Puram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
