Auto driver stabbed by rowdy-sheeter succumbs to injuries

Mysore/Mysuru: An auto driver, who was allegedly stabbed by a rowdy-sheeter over petty reasons has succumbed to injuries at a hospital in city.

The deceased is Somashekar (30), a resident of B.M. Sri Nagar here.

According to the Police, Somashekar, along with his friends were consuming liquor at his friend Kiran’s farm on Aug. 24 night, when a rowdy-sheeter, identified as Sathya switched on the mobile phone torch and directed the light on Somashekar’s face.

Irked over this, Somashekar snatched the mobile phone which angered Sathya and others, who allegedly stabbed Somashekar on his stomach and fled from the spot. 

Somashekar, who was seriously injured was admitted to a private hospital in city where he succumbed to injuries yesterday. Metagalli Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab the accused.
