Mysuru: The autobiography of Dr. M. Sayeed Ahmed was released by Prof. Riyaz Ahmed at a function held at Arafat Function Hall on Shivaji Road here recently.

The book titled ‘Sadaa-e-Yaadasht Wo Hasbe Sayeed’ is in English and Urdu and is dedicated to his parents Mohammed Dastagir and Rameeza Bi, his teachers and ancestors.

The book contains the purpose, untold story, teachings, research, counselling work, social service in education, some of the prominent persons of the family including the profile of Abdul Kareem Tayib, the first Muslim IAS Officer of Mysuru City.

 It also includes some of Dr. Sayeed Ahmed’s outstanding students of Chemistry and photographs of some eminent teachers and benefactors who were instrumental in changing the course of his life. The teachers are Prof. D.S. Mahadevappa, his research guide, Prof. H. Sankegowda and Prof. B. Sayed Ali.

The book contains 29 family trees and a number of articles on Science, Perception of God, Concentration in Namaz, 75th Year of Independence, Crime and Punishment (in Urdu), International Year of Chemistry, Elucidation of Kalima based on Quran etc.

Physician and Star of Mysore columnist Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, presented the review of the English book while Dr. Mohammed Haziq Nadwi, Academic Director, Dar-Ul-Umoor Tipu Sultan Research Centre, Srirangapatna, presented the review of Urdu version. Renowned artist and calligraphist Abbas Sharief presented a pencil portrait of Prof. Ahmed.

Prof. Mohammed Jaffer of the History Department presided and highlighted the social services of Dr. Sayeed Ahmed.

Khalid Ahmed, former Chairman of Karnataka Board of Wakf was present. Prof. M. Sayeed Ahmed was felicitated on the occasion.
