Mysuru: At a meeting organised by the Kannada Kriya Samithi and the Kannada Shasthreeya Bhasha Horata Samithi, a resolution was passed urging the reconsideration of the relocation proposal.
Presided over by Kannada Kriya Samithi Chairman M.G. Sadanandaiah, the meeting took place last evening at Nrupathunga Kannada School in Ramakrishnanagar. While welcoming the Union Government’s decision to grant CESCK autonomy by separating it from the Central Institute of Indian Languages, members unanimously opposed its relocation.
CESCK has long been based in Mysuru, with the University of Mysore offering land for a dedicated building. Given Mysuru’s scholarly heritage and academic environment, the meeting reaffirmed that it remains the ideal location.
A resolution was passed urging Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka’s Central Ministers and key Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members to abandon the relocation plan. To plan further action, another meeting has been scheduled for 4 pm on Feb. 8 at Nrupathunga Kannada School.
