Autorickshaw lifter held

Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested a person on charges of stealing autorickshaws and have recovered two stolen autos worth about Rs.30,000 from him. The arrested is Md. Haneef, 19, a resident of Kurimandi in Kesare here.

The Police, who saw the accused pushing an auto near the Muslim Burial Grounds, took him into custody and during interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing two autos in Mandi Mohalla and Srirangapatna. Based on the information provided by him, the Police have recovered two autos from him. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody. Mandi Inspector L. Arun, ASI K.S. Guruswamy and staff Jayapala, S. Jayakumar, Chandrashekar, M. Iliyas, Ravigowda, Shankar T. Bandivaddar and Hanumantha Kalaida took part in the operation.
