Mysore/Mysuru: The city’s Sharanu Vishwavachana Foundation will confer ‘Veeranishte Sharana Madiwala Machideva’ Award on two Ex-servicemen for their achievements at a programme to take place at Sharanu Kuteera in Railway Colony, Sharadadevinagar, Bogadi, at 11 am tomorrow (Feb. 26).

While martyred soldier P.N. Mahesh of H.D. Kote, who lost his life in Siachen glacier, Jammu & Kashmir, will be conferred the award posthumously, Ex-serviceman Sangamnath of Chikkamagalur, who is a President’s Medal winner, will be conferred the award in person. Sangamnath, who retired from the army after 30 years of service, has guarded the country at Pakistan and China borders and has a record of 70 Parajumps to his credit. Sarvamangala, the mother of martyred soldier P.N. Mahesh, will receive the award accorded on her son posthumously.

Former High Court Judge Arali Nagaraj will preside. Former Kannada faculty Prof. C.G. Ushadevi will be present, according to a press release issued by the Foundation Founder Roopa Kumaraswamy.
