Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya Engineering Pratishtana Trust will be conferring the prestigious Visvesvaraya National Literary Award on 28 senior writers from across the State.

The Trust has selected the following writers who are aged more than 50 years and have scripted at least 10 books:

Sadananda Naravi of Mudubidare in Dakshina Kannada district, Dr. S.V. Prabhavathi of Bengaluru, Prof. Satyanarayana of Shivamogga district, Tallur Shivarama Shetty of Udupi district,  Siddarama Uppina of Alamel in Vijayapura district, A.G. Ratna Kalegowda of Bengaluru, Dr. Belawadi Manjunath of Chikkamagalur district, U.N. Sanganalamath of Honnali in Davanagere district, Siddarama Honkal of Shahapur, Yadgiri district, Dr. Fakeerappa Vajrabandi of Koppal district, B.G. Ramesh of Bengaluru, Sharanagouda S.Patil of Belagavi, Saraswathi Bhosale of Dharwad district, Mahadev Basarakod of Amingad in Bagalkot district, Dr. H.M. Nagarjuna Haadikere of Chikkamagalur, Dr. V.V. Hiremath of Gadag district, Tirumala Mavinakuli of Karkikoppa in Shivamogga district, Vijaya Mohan of Madhugiri in Tumakuru district, Dr. Nellikatte S. Siddesh of Shankaraghatta in Shivamogga district, G.S. Gonal of Madinur in Koppal district, Dr. Gurupadaiah V. Salimath of Savanur in Haveri district, S.G. Malathi Shetty of Bengaluru, Umesh Munavalli of Dharwad district, Rajashekar Jamadandi of Mysuru, M.N. Sundararaj  of Shivamogga, Kondajji Venkatesh of Bengaluru, Ravindranath Sirwar of Bengaluru and Jyothi Loni of Gadag district.  The award will be presented to these writers at a programme organised as part of Kempegowda  Karnataka Regional Arts Festival to take place at Nayana Rangamandira in Bengaluru at 5 pm on Dec.30.
