Award winners of Prakriti Intl. Documentary Film Festival

Mysore/Mysuru: The Award-cum-Film Screening of 23rd UGC-CEC Educational Video Competition and Prakriti International Documentary Film Festival concluded on Nov. 27. The winners of the video competition were presented with awards on the occasion.

The event was jointly organised by University Grants Commission (UGC), Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi (an inter-University Centre of UGC) and Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), University of Mysore (UoM).

The awards were presented during the valedictory function by UoM Vice-Chancellor                                                   (VC) Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar. Madras University Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Gowri, CEC Joint Director Dr. Sunil Meharu, EMRC Director Prof. Rajashekar were present.

Winners and categories: Environment: ‘Green Moksha’ by Ashish Bhavalkar: Rs. 50,000 cash prize, trophy and certificate; ‘Bamboo Ballads’ by Sajith Naduthodi: Trophy and ‘Kamegowda – A unique role model’ by T. Kempanna also bagged a prize.

Development: ‘Isapur Ka Dangal’ by Asif Hussain and ‘Solar Insect Trap’ by K. Gopinath were awarded with shields.

Human Rights: ‘Blooming Together’ by Jaya Joseraj: Rs. 50,000 cash prize, trophy and certificate.

Swachh Bharat: ‘Six Women – Solid Waste Management’ by T.P. Varadhanayaka: Rs. 50,000 cash award, trophy and certificate. Documentary ‘Swachhata Ka Avishkar’ by Prashanth Kushikar bagged a shield.
