Srirangapatna: Child actor Rohit, who had acted in Kannada movie ‘Katera,’ sustained serious injuries along with three others when a private bus collided head-on with the car near Palahalli in the taluk yesterday.

According to sources, Master Rohit is currently being treated at a private hospital in Mysuru. Rohit, who had bagged the National Award for the movie ‘Ondalla Erdalla,’ was appreciated by the people for his role in the Kannada movie ‘Katera.’

Rohit and others, who had attended a private function, were returning in their car (KA-11-N-4173), when a private tourist bus collided head-on with the car near Palahalli, seriously injuring Rohit on his jaw and head and is said to be in a critical state. Also injured are Rohit’s mother Chayalakshmi, his friend and a lecturer.

The impact was such that the front portion of the car has been heavily damaged.

Sources said that Rohit, who is undergoing treatment at the private hospital, underwent a surgery and is kept in an ICU.
