Awareness on diabetes must: Pejawar Seer

Mysore/Mysuru: With diabetes cases growing rapidly in the country, Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji lauded the efforts of Suyog Hospital to create awareness about the disease by establishing Suyog Diabetic Health Club.

The Swamiji graced the awareness programme on diabetes organised under the joint aegis of Suyog Diabetic Health Club and Suyog Women’s Health Club at Suyog Hospital in the city recently.

The Swamiji who gave a call to the diabetics to make use of the facility, described the novel plan of Dr. S. P. Yoganna which is a model to the society.

MLC Marithibbegowda inaugurated the lecture on diabetes and said that “For the past five years, several free programmes have been organised for the benefit of diabetics under Diabetic Health Club which are laudable. Apart from taking medicines to keep the diabetes under control, the strict adherence to lifestyle is also essential. The hospital is also providing medicine to economically weaker patients for free.”

Diabetologist Dr. Mahesh, who gave the details of tablets prescribed for treating diabetes also explained about their effects, side effects and advantages.

 Dr. Yoganna spoke on various types of insulins and their inevitable usage during the situations.

 Dr. Seema Yoganna, who was recently conferred Women Entrepreneur Leader Award, was felicitated on the occasion.

President of Suyog Diabetic Health Club S.K. Nanjappa presided. Working President H.S. Ramesh Chandra delivered the introductory address.

Trustee Sudha Yoganna, Director Dr. Seema Yoganna, Secretary Krishna and Vice-President of Women’s Division Gayathri Narayan were present.
