Awareness rally on eco-friendly Ganesha held

Mysuru: Leo Club Members of Pragathi Vidya Kendra, in association with Lions Club of Mysore, Indra Nagar, had organised an awareness rally to create awareness on the use of eco-friendly Ganesha here recently. Dr. Ravi, HOD of Communication and Journalism, JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram, who was the guest of honour, spoke on the ill-effects of using Plaster of Paris Ganesha idols and those painted with artificial colours.

Lions Club of Mysore, Indira Nagar President Anand Ballarapady, Secretary Shivabasappa Swamy, Pragathi Cultural and Educational Trust Chairman V. Venkatesh and Pragathi Vidya Kendra Administrator Karthik V. Kashyap were present. Students went around the residential areas of Bogadi carrying placards and raising slogans to protect environment and use of eco-friendly Ganesha idols.
