Mysuru: The Indian Institute of Educational Theatre (IIET), Mysuru, has organised an informative and engaging awareness programme titled ‘Why Spiders Matter?’ focusing on the importance of spiders in our ecosystem, at its campus in Hardwicke School on JLB Road tomorrow (Jan. 4) at 12 noon.
The session will feature an interactive discussion by Dr. Abhijith, a noted expert in the field, who will highlight the ecological significance of spiders, their role in maintaining environmental balance and their contribution to natural pest control.
Despite common fears and misconceptions surrounding spiders, the programme aims to educate the public about their vital presence in nature and the need for conservation of these often-misunderstood creatures.
Through visuals, scientific insights and audience interaction, the session seeks to create awareness among students, educators, nature enthusiasts and the general public about biodiversity and sustainable living.
The organisers believe that understanding small yet crucial species like spiders is essential for protecting ecosystems and fostering ecological responsibility.
The programme is open to all, and entry is free. For further details, contact Mob: 98456-05012.
