Mysuru: Farooqia  PU College Alumni Association and Farooqia High School Old Boys Association, Mysuru, jointly conducted the 17th Azeez Sait Memorial Quiz competition at Sir Syed Hall of Farooqia College recently.

Azeez Sait, former Minister,  was the champion of minorities and  down-trodden. He was the President of Rifahul Muslimeen Educational Trust (RMET), Mysuru, from 1985-2002.

Prof. M. Sayeed Ahmed, Hon.Secretary of PU College & Old Boys Association, in his inaugural address spoke about the purpose of conducting this quiz programme. He said the quiz aimed at creating awareness among Muslim community and urged the participants to aim high in life and aspire to become scientists, professors among other professionals.

Apart from trophies, books on science projects were given to 50 candidates in order to motivate them to make working models and conduct experiments.

In the preliminary round which was written quiz, 249 students from VIII Std  to II PUC participated out of which 50 students qualified for the oral quiz which was conducted class-wise. 10 prizes were given for each class.

Prof. Sayeed Ahmed, Dr. Syed Abdul Khuddus, Abdul Jabbar, S. Ateeq Ahmed, R.H. Basha, Sadiya Gazala, Shahwar Jahan,  Tabassum, Dr. Shavana Shabreen, M.K. Zakir, Farha Zoya, Syeda Fatima Azra and Mohammed Baseerulla were the Quiz Masters in different rounds for various classes.
