May 27, 2019

Haveri:  Rumours are rife in the Northern Karnataka district of Haveri, that Hirekerur Congress MLA B.C. Patil may quit the Congress after being denied a Cabinet berth in the Coalition Govt.

B.C. Patil, a three-time MLA from Hirekerur and a Lingayat strongman, is said to be upset with the Congress for denying him a Cabinet berth all these days.

B.C . Patil, also a former Police officer and an actor, began his political career by getting elected as an MLA on a JD(S) ticket for the first time. He later quit the JD(S) and joined the Congress and won twice from Hirekerur on a Congress ticket.

But feeling sidelined in the party, Patil is said to be looking at the option of joining the BJP.

B.C. Patil is also said to be upset over improper representation to Veerashaiva-Lingayat community in the State Cabinet.
