B.H. Nagarathnamma (90), a senior Akashavani artiste, wife of late B. Hiriyannaiah and a resident of Sunnadakeri in K.R. Mohalla, passed away this morning in city.

She leaves behind one son, two daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

A senior Gamaka artiste, she was the recipient of Kittur Rani Chennamma Award and Karnataka Rajyotsava Award.

She had served as the Vice-President of Mysuru District Gamaka Kala Parishat and as a member of Karnataka Sangeetha Nruthya Academy.

Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill today, according to sources.
