Mahadevappa (76), a jaggery merchant and a resident of Agrahara in city, passed away yesterday following brief illness. He was the President of Gurumalleshwara Nandi Dhwaja Sangha.

A native of Kuderu village, he leaves behind his wife Shanthamma, three sons, a  daughter, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Veerashaiva Burial Ground in Vidyaranyapuram this afternoon.
