B.T. Kavitha’s posting as DCP cancelled in 24 hrs

September 21, 2018

Mysuru: The State Government which had ordered posting of senior Police Officer B.T. Kavitha as DCP (Crime and Traffic) of the city on Wednesday, cancelled the order within 24 hours of its issue.

As per Wednesday’s order, B.T. Kavitha, who had been serving as an SP (Civil) at the DGP’s office in Bengaluru, arrived at the City Police Commissioner’s office on Thursday morning and got seated at the DCP (Crime and Traffic) Chamber. But Kavitha could not formally assume charge, reportedly due to political pressure.

But in a late night development on Thursday, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy cancelled the transfer order of Kavitha and issued an order asking her to continue at her current posting in Bengaluru.

Amidst all these developments, City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeswara Rao refuting reports of political pressure, said that Kavitha could not assume charge due to technical reasons.
