Mysuru: Baandhavya-2024, sports event for specially-abled organised by Rotary Mysore Midtown, was inaugurated by N. Ranga Rao & Sons CEO Arjun Ranga at University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Grounds), here this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Ranga lauded the efforts of parents and teachers for providing special care to special children.
He also remembered his school days when he actively took part in the annual sports event and appreciated Rotary Mysore Midtown for organising sports to special kids.
He said India would witness drastic changes in sports in the coming 20 years with athletes from the country dominating in the Olympics.
Around 500 special children from 18 special schools took part in various athletic events. Children were being encouraged by their teachers, parents and the members present at the venue.

Elizar Milton, Baandhavya – 2024 Chairman Rtn. R. Venkatesh, Vice-Chairman Rtn. R. Ravindra Babu, Community Service Director Rtn. R. Nagaraj, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Midtown President Ashwini Raghavendra, Secretary Revathi Baliga and others were present. On the occasion, Rotary Mysore Midtown felicitated Paralympians Hemanth, Poorna Rao and Pallavi.
The valedictory of the sports will be held in the evening with Senior Theatre Person Indira Nair as chief guest and RI Dist. – 3181 District Governor-Elect Rtn. P.K. Ramakrishna as the guest of honour.
A special cultural programme has been organised tomorrow (Dec. 8) at Manasa Kuteera in Dwarkanagar with actor Dharma Kirthiraj and Karnatak vocalist Rajath Sharma as chief guests.
