Mysuru:  A one-and-a-half year-old girl was killed on the spot, when a M-Sand laden lorry reportedly ran over her at Vidyaranyapuram here on Saturday night.

The deceased child is Ankitha, daughter of Ravindra and Shobha couple and residents of Railway Layout in city.

The couple along with their daughter had come to an internet cum Xerox shop on Chamundivana Road in Vidyaranyapuram 16th Cross to file an application online.

The little girl, who was playing near the shop, came to the edge of the road and the M. Sand laden lorry (KA-05-D-4254) which was coming from Bhuthale Ground side ran over the girl killing her.

K.R. Traffic Police personnel, who rushed to the spot, arrested the lorry driver and seized the lorry. The body of the deceased girl was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members, according to K.R. Traffic Inspector Manjunath.
