Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Ajay, Orthopaedic Surgeon at Government Hospital, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada district, has been conferred ‘Best Doctor’ Award by the State Government.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundurao presented the award to Dr. Ajay at a programme held as part of National Doctor’s Day at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on July 1.

Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, Secretary of Health Department T. K. Anil Kumar and others were present on the occasion.

Dr. Ajay is the son of M.H. Basavaraju, retired Deputy General Manager of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Dehradun and Nagapushpa, a retired Reader of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET). They are the residents of Rajivnagar in Mysuru.
