Mysuru: International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) had organised its 24th Congress and General Assembly in Hyderabad recently.

G.K.Gowtham, a CSIR-Junior Research Fellow (JRF) from the Department of Physics, Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru, had presented his research work titled “Imaging of Crystallite Shapes in Various Silk Forms using PXRD” and won the Best Poster Award sponsored by Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC).  

Dr. H. Somashekarappa (Guide) and Prof. R. Somashekar (Co-Guide) are his Research Supervisors.

IUCr organises the conference once in three years and this is the second time organised in India. Gowtham is the third Indian to win this award from CCDC.
