Bags distributed to students of Government School for Blind

Mysore/Mysuru: As a gratitude for the visually challenged students who defied all odds to score good marks in the SSLC exams, social worker Dr. K. Mahendra Singh Kalappa distributed laptop bags to the students of the Government School for Blind Children at Tilaknagar in city recently.

Buoyed by the success of the Government School for Blind students who are giving 100% results in the SSLC examination over the last several years, Mahendra Singh Kalappa, a philanthropist who is serving as the President of Parisara Jagruthi Vedike in Bannur, felicitated the toppers of the school and distributed bags to them and also to other visually challenged students who are studying in the school. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mahendra Singh Kalappa said, “I felt really happy after hearing about the achievements of the students of this school. The visually challenged students have overcome all the difficulties and hurdles on their way to score good marks. These students stand as an example to the society and send the message of come what may, determination and dedication can make one achieve any goal of life.”

He further added that the efforts of the teachers and non-teaching staff has played a pivotal role in shaping up the lives of these young students and are making them to lead an independent life. 

Satish, Superintendent of the School, thanked Kalappa for his generosity and sought his support in future days too.

Mahendra Singh Kalappa over the past several years is involved in social service helping the underprivileged and extending support to those in need. He recently had also adopted a tiger of Mysuru Zoo for a year.
